Mackay Sugar Charges into a Sustainable Future with New Electric Vehicle Fleet
Mackay Sugar is making a significant stride towards sustainability with the introduction of the first MG ZS electric vehicles (EV) into its fleet, which will be powered by green electricity generated by the company’s sugar mills.
The vehicles will draw from the eco-friendly bioenergy generated by Mackay Sugar; s cogeneration plant, turning a new leaf in the company internal transport operational practices.
“We’ve been generating and exporting green electricity at our mills for the better part of a decade, and the new EV’s reinforce our dedication to ensuring a sustainable future for our community, and Mackay Sugar,” said Jannik Olejas, Mackay Sugar CEO.
Wrapped in the company’s brand colours and proudly supported by New Pioneer Motors, the five Mackay Sugar EVs represent more than just a mode of transport; they are a symbol of the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
In addition to the clear sustainability message they represent, the roll-out of Mackay Sugar’s EVs is testament to the dedication and hard work of a collaborative, like-minded team.
